LookLabs Staff Pick - Baby Driver

Feb 11, 2018

Baby Driver is stylish, exciting, and fueled by a killer soundtrack, Baby Driver hits the road and it's gone -- proving fast-paced action movies can be smartly written without sacrificing thrills. After being coerced into working for a crime boss, a young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.

"This is a great movie which I have seen a couple of times already", says Jerome Sabourin, LookLabs chief colorist and cinematographer. "The driving music scenes are incredible and the editing is amazing. Baby Driver also has a comic book feel about the story which makes it even more a film to my liking. I feel that influences the look of the film. The colors are punchy but not overdone, you can tell by looking at the skin tones that Baby Driver has the look and feel of Kodak film. Kodak skin tones have subtle hues of pink and red where as Fuji delivers more warm and yellowish hues".

If this is a look you are going for in your next film we suggest using LookLabs DFS (Digital Film Stock) Kodak 5201 or 5205 LUT's which are available in our DFS Complete series of LUT’s. Once you start using DFS LUT's you won’t be able to stop... we promise. Check out these farme grabs of Baby Driver to see what their look is and then check out the official trailer.
