“How long will it take to grade my film?” It's a question asked all the time, so what are the standard replies? Obviously, every movie or music video is different so a ballpark estimate is generally the best you can offer your client without seeing the footage. Things that will affect the time frame include conforming, VFX shots not finished, picture cut not locked, number of cuts in the show, a director that wants to experiment! Nine out of ten times you will need to give a rough estimate before seeing a rough cut.
