Color Grading Historical Re-enactments

Jun 21, 2020

Ha Ling Peak is a documentary from Edmonton, Alberta Canada creative team, Sticks and Stones. Ha Ling Peak is named after a man who first climbed the famous Alberta mountain back in 1896. Through the use of interviews and historical re-enactments Sticks and Stones tells the story of how the mountain got its original name Chinaman's Peak and how the small town of Canmore rallied to rename the Mountain.

LookLabs created two primary looks for this feature length documentary. The first for interview sections using its DFS Kodak LUT's and a mix of Gold and Blue SpeedLooks for the re-enactment scenes. Check out this vignette illustrating the final finish on this documentary.
